Alex Drops Almost Half His Mass on 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition'
The second installment of 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC) got a little more invested in Alex's journey from a 459-lb 23-year old to a much slimmer and healthier self than we saw in last week's premiere.
We're not sure, though, why trainer Chris Powell let him flounder so much during his first three months of going it alone.
It seemed a vulnerable time for the trainer to check out completely for such a long span of time. If you've got someone who's life choices have led to this massive weight gain, how can they be left to their own devices after only three months?
Of course, we're not world-class trainers, and the results speak for himself so maybe Alex needed to see himself failing to learn how to succeed. It was an incredibly dramatic reveal, and seeing that he'd lost 216 lbs in a year was inspiration for anyone wondering how to do it.
"216 lbs in a year. Who does that?" Alex asked the crowd of supporters. "I do that."
